Be cautious about “equality is simply socially constructed”
The phrase:
“Equality is simply socially constructed.”
can mean something much stronger than what you intend.
For example, someone could interpret it as:
“Equality has no objective meaning whatsoever. Whatever a society says is equality becomes equality.”
That is a major philosophical position.
Another person might interpret it as:
“There are no objective human rights; all ideas of equality are merely products of culture.”
That would take you into debates in moral philosophy, social constructionism, relativism, and theories of justice.
