Analytical means relating to an explanation that breaks a phenomenon into relationships or processes.

For example:

Legal freedom affects labor mobility because it removes restrictions on changing employment.

That's an analytical proposition.

Historical evidence

Evidence concerning what actually happened in the past.

For example:

• employment contracts,
• census records,
• wage records,
• parliamentary legislation,
• court records,
• correspondence,
• contemporary newspapers.

So:

“Workers became more mobile”

is an analytical proposition.

“Census records show increasing movement of workers into industrial cities”

is historical evidence.
