Conclusion versus interpretation

If you are presenting something as a historical conclusion about an effect.

It does not necessarily have to be called an “interpretation”.

However, historians often use interpretation more broadly to include conclusions about significance and consequences that connects the event to a larger historical process.

So you are right that not every conclusion is an interpretation in your narrower sense.

But historians often use “interpretation” broadly enough to include such conclusions.
