“Which research question?”

The question currently considered important by a scholarly field.

For example, if historians are currently emphasizing:

“How did gender shape political identity?”

a researcher asking:

“How did nineteenth-century property law structure industrial investment?”

may receive less attention simply because it falls outside the field's current intellectual priorities.

That does not mean the second question is inferior.
