“Sufficient” standing

Here sufficient means:

enough to meet the relevant condition.

It does not mean:

exactly equal amounts of wealth, power, or social status.

For example, “sufficient political standing” does not necessarily mean that every citizen must possess exactly the same political influence.

It means having enough political standing to be recognized and participate as a genuine civic equal.

Social standing

Your position and recognition within society.

Example:

Are you treated as a socially legitimate and equal member of the community?

Political standing

Your effective position in the political system.

Example:

Can you vote, participate politically, hold office, serve on juries, and have your political rights respected?

Economic standing

Your position in relation to resources and economic opportunities.

Example:

Do you possess enough economic resources and opportunities to participate as an independent member of society?

Civic equals

People who are recognized as equal members of the political community.
