Methodology tells how to do research.

Methodology includes:

research design,

source selection,

methods of analysis,

criteria for evaluating evidence,

and rules of inference.

Evidence is one component of research.

Methodology tells you:

what evidence to collect,

how to evaluate it,

and how to use it to support or challenge a claim.

So methodology and evidence are complementary, not opposing concepts.
