·       People are united and divided by symbols; there are groups; each under its own symbols.
  
Image as badge 
·       The perfect image of a politician is the badge of party membership; internalization (by members) is so comprehensive that it entails self-administrated codes of authority for dress, appearance and behavior rituals.
Mask as emblems 
·      There is wonderfully orchestrated play of social behavior orientated around consumption practices; marketing strategies must ensure that the mask good wear bear the emblems of ever-shifting life style patterns.
Totemistic phase in the consumer society 
·        Totemism are recalled and synthesized in the present totemistic phase of the market industrial society. Politician related images are freed from serving only the narrowly utilitarian qualities (capability of providing comforts to voters) of the politician himself (idolatry); abstract and authoritative symbols (iconology). Utility and symbolism are mixed under the sign of the group. Politician-information format and politician image format fulfill their totemic potential in becoming emblems for social collectives, principally by means of their associations with lifestyle format.  
Consumption is to be spectacle 
·       Consumption is meant to be spectacle, a public enterprise staging for the spectacle of consumption has to be brilliant, so much so that it can detract people from their duty to ensure that they sacrifice or neglect important values and goods because of being enraptured by the dance.
