‘A case for more Beer’

·       ‘A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo, and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members. In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills off brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, constantly making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.’

Weakest members and weakest brain cells are phoenix; therefore despite regular culling and drinking they will continue to exist.

Event is not as you see it

·       ‘Creative journalist’ strays from reporting news events and starts creating events so that news can be created; he can make accidents happen all the time and when these accidents speak we have news. World is awash with news because of this ‘superb creativity’.

Confusing necessary with sufficient

·       Rice is sufficient diet for survival; therefore, if one needs to survive he must have rice.

·       ‘Two legs and two hands and two eyes, one tongue and two lips’; none of these conditions is necessary to the human’s being the human; therefore, one can be a human without legs, hands, eyes, tongue and lips. (True, none of these conditions is necessary, but their disjunction is, since no human can be human without fulfilling at least some of these conditions).

·       14th of August is on Sunday; necessary and sufficient condition for Sunday to be independent day in Pakistan. Sunday therefore, must be declared independent day for Pakistan.
