Objectivity is to be influenced by feelings, Affordance for creating the known physical reality, Points to ponder

Objectivity is to be influenced by feelings

·       Objectivity is not to be clouded; but philosophers must not be immune to the feelings of crowd as theory is for the people. Leaders in the post-revolutionary period are crushed by divergent demands created by the euphoria of victory as much as by the objective philosophers devoting their intellectual abilities to the detached analysis of the aspects of a theory than to its applicability to those divergent demands without tainting the theory with opportunistic flexibility. Objectivity that makes philosophers active is to be influenced by the feelings of people as people are not for a theory.

Affordance for creating the known physical reality 

·      “We formalize social norms by adding to the physical affordances the social affordances that we define using norms. We use this affordances in much the same way we use invariant patterns of behavior permitted through cultural evolution or by means of law-or-rule making function. We use affordances in creating the known physical reality. Just consider the example of the person pointing to the empty chair in a restaurant asking, ‘is someone sitting there?’ he is not insane, he is simply confronting socially defined acceptable repertoires of behavior”

Points to ponder

·       ‘Weak students are black students’ this statement does not mean ‘black students are weak’ because latter generalizes to all black; in the same way terrorist are Muslim does not mean Muslims are terrorist.

·       Reflexive learning is uninhibited understanding because of participation; it requires sublimation to a role that conforms to the (other) culture’s motivation and emotions.

·       World is objectively given and we humans view it through the window of our senses the given reality and socially constructed additions.
