Points to ponder
Gauge of ‘True religion’
·        No devotee of any religion wants to go to paradise as he is already there. If all religions are right, then none may be or one of all must be. Religion that guarantees eternal bliss must have truth predicated on the assumption of an order of supra-empirical reality; and must have as well capacity to deal with the reality of ‘life situations’ as they confront men and society. Reality of life situations is all that concerns those philosophies which reject supra-empirical reality and since that and that alone is the reality which philosophers see from different ‘vantage points’ in their social structure, their ideologies are ‘relative true’ only with respect to that reality. Religion devoid of the capacity to deal with the reality of ‘life situations’ is too divorced to social structures to be meaningful.
·        For those who interpret religions apart from all other considerations for their own needs religion is nothing if not permissive of their practices but religion itself if permissive becomes nothing.
