The camera makes everyone a tourist in reality of own making. By Prof dr Sohail Ansari.
Is the writer cruel
that makes his characters suffer only to bring them to triumph or tragedy in
the end?” ― Johnny Rich, The Human Script Ibn
‘Umar said, “The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
took me by the shoulder and said, ‘Be in this world as if you were a stranger
or a traveller on the road.”
Compelling realities and pre-packaged messages. By

The camera makes everyone a tourist
in other people's reality, and eventually in one's own. (Susan Sontag). Indian
movies contrive ‘compelling realities’. Recipients (tourists) imbibe pre-packaged
messages to know other people’s (Pakistanis) reality. Movies inspire conviction
for India on the side of the angels and cause lowered self-respect and self-image
among the people of Pakistan.
Irreverent humor
trivializes sacred. ‘Tere Bin Laden is a tongue-in-cheek comedy’. Nothing
can be more sacrilegious than the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, and
ridicule in treating venerated.
Exercise: students are to
analyze underlying reasons for banning Bollywood movies In Pakistan.
Students are to
write plot of a movie that is supposed to be banned in India. Or as Susan
Sontag said: ‘The only interesting answers are those which destroy the
questions’ so write a plot and create answers those destroy the questions about
the Pakistan/islam.
